What to bring

On your trip, Bearcat Outfitters will provide accommodation, meals, guiding services, transportation from Kamloops, field care of meat and trophies and delivery of trophies to a local taxidermist and meat to a processor if required.
We will be staying at one of several cabins in the guide territory, depending on where/what we are hunting. Our primary cabin is on the shores of beautiful Monte Lake, approximately 35 minutes drive from Kamloops. Regardless of which cabin we are in, they are all comfortable and have power and hot showers. The Monte Lake and Stump Lake cabins also have wireless internet.
You will need to bring personal items such as towel, razor, toothbrush, etc. Bedding will be provided.
Any alcoholic beverages the hunters may want for their trip are the responsibility of the hunters to acquire.
Bring your favourite firearms, but remember to complete the Non-Resident Firearms Declaration Form prior to entering Canada
Please visit the RCMP web page for information on bringing firearms into Canada at: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/information/visit/index-eng.htm
It has been recommended that 3 copies of the Declaration form be presented to Border officials and make sure to not sign these forms until in the presence of a Border official.
Shooting ranges for bears, deer and moose can (and usually do) vary wildly in this country. Shots can be 20 yards to 350+ yards so bring a versatile rifle and cartridge combination. Any medium-calibre rifle is fine for cats. We welcome archers to our territory for all species. Please note hunting with handguns is prohibited in Canada.
Please bring sturdy, water-resistant hiking boots that are well broken-in as well as durable clothes that are good under all weather conditions. Rain is not common in this area, but anything can happen and you need to be prepared for the worst to make sure you have an enjoyable trip.
Good-quality binoculars are highly recommended as we will be doing lots of glassing on almost all hunts with the exception of cat hunts. Bring a medium-size backpack for the items you will bring with you on a daily basis.
A deposit of 35% of the hunt price is required to book a hunt and secure a hunt date. The remainder of the money owing for the trip is to be wired to Bearcat 30 days prior to the commencement of the hunt or paid in cash or traveller’s cheques in person before the end of the hunt if agreed upon ahead of time. If the hunt is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the commencement of the hunt, the deposit is forfeited. If the hunt is cancelled within 30 days of the hunt commencement, the hunt cost is forfeited. A contract will be completed and executed upon receipt of hunt deposit. The hunters will be required to sign a limit of liability waiver prior to the start of the hunt.
